Blog 18 (barely legal): Anal Sex

polish_flag

idaAnal sex is very important in Croatia. This fact was very recently discovered by Ida Prester, popular Croatian TV-host and singer in a pop-band “Lollobrigida”. Her cooperation with HTV (Croatian national TV) show “Hrvatska uživo” (Croatia Live) was disconnected, because she gave an interview in which she stated that she doesn’t like anal sex. That’s not the problem for the director of musical TV show she is hosting on HTV, neither it’s the problem for the director of Saturday morning TV show for younger teens that Ida is also hosting. I guess the directors of these shows both secretly dislike anal sex. But, unfortunately for Ida, the director of “Hrvatska uživo” seems to be a huge fan of anal sex, so – naturally – he felt threatened by Ida’s public statement and decided to cut her off.

You can see Ida here, in a “Briljanteen” TV show (Saturday morning, teens):

Her guests are Irena Rašeta (Croatian SF writer I am yet to write about) and your favorite Croatian bloger. I’m the guy in red; that’s because of my political orientation AND because I wanted to increase my sexual attractiveness. Please, notice those big, dark circles in the studio background – you know what they symbolize, right? Yes, they represent huge, almighty assholes, always watching us and listening to our public statements. You see, they are everywhere!

Now, here you can hear Ida’s music in a music video:

Or here, this is a very interesting song called “My Boyfriend is Gay“:

Maybe you can hire her band to play on your wedding, or something like that.

So, anyway, back to anal sex; please learn from this information! If you ever happen to work for news redaction on Croatian national TV: YOU HAVE TO LOVE ANAL SEX! Otherwise, you might lose your job.

Besides Croatian anal sex scandals, most things I have mentioned in my blog 14 have resolved themselves. Actually, only my cooperation with publishing house VBZ is left unresolved, because we are still waiting for Ministry of Culture to decide whether to support the book or not. The contract with the French publisher is signed, the City of Rijeka will support my books, I managed to send the stories both to Istrakon and to Sferakon – and now I even know the results of those contests. Unfortunately, I haven’t won any award on Istrakon’s contest this year, but two of my stories will be published in their collection. I’ve sent three, they took two. Usually I feel that jury tends to pick my worse stories and leave the good ones behind, but this year I think they chose well. The story that didn’t make it, was inspired by elections. The plot was set in near future and the main characters were two guys working for a political party, trying to win the elections for their candidate. The breakthrough in technology (and metaphysics) made possible to raise dead so they can vote on elections. The undead were even granted their civil rights, so it was made legal for them to vote. But our heroes took it a step further, importing the corpses from Bosnia and Hercegovina so they could vote for their party in Croatia. They cut the corpses in pieces, so they could be easily transported. The main problem emerges when the protagonists find out that their associates in Bosnia and Hercegovina have mistaken some senior citizens for corpses, and sent them along with the shipment. Oh yes, the candidates on elections are also undead – famous Croatian politicians from the past. I think the idea was quite catchy, but I am very unpleased by my execution. I wrote the story twice, because I didn’t like it the first time, but even the second time wasn’t much better. The problem is – the story doesn’t really have a plot; it’s mostly describing the setting. So, I will probably recycle the idea and use it somewhere else. The results of the contest aren’t officially published yet, so I don’t know who else made it to the collection. I only know that Vesna Kurilić did. She is a young writer and a friend of mine. She came to my writing workshop only couple of times, I don’t really know if that helped her in any way. She was already published in Istrakon’s collection once before, but she was refused afterwards. Now she’s in again and I am very glad for her.

Sferakon’s contest doesn’t give awards, but their collection is probably the best media for publishing SF stories in Croatia. When I say “the best”, I mean with best distribution and with most readers. That’s about 500 copies, distributed to the visitors of Sferakon convention. Yes, about 500 copies, that’s our best media. Life sucks. Anyway, my story made it to the collection, and also did the story written by Irena Hartmann. Irena is one of the students on my writing workshop and I am very proud of her. She is only 18, just the right age to end this blog with.

Rozumiem brak komentarzy pod poprzednią blotką – czytelnicy nie lubią poezji, więc nie wiedzieli co napisać. Ale żeby i pod tym tekstem było cicho? Wyglądałoby, że Polacy boją się seksu :P

I understand the absence of comments under the last entry – the readers don’t like poetry so they didn’t know what to write. But no comments here? It’d be as if Polish people didn’t like sex :P

Istina je Zorane – u crvenom stvarno izgledas gotovo k’o prava zvezda pornića ;)

To prawda, Zoranie – w czerwienie wyglądasz niemalże jak prawdziwa gwiazda porno :)

Švabija = pet name for Germany

Ma sjajna je pesma, Zorane! ;) Već sam postala prava fanka “Đubriva” – možda čak i postaću njihova pruppie… ;)
